Nairobi National Park is Kenya's first national park, established in 1946. Covering 117.21 sq km, it houses over 100 mammal species and 400 bird species, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and zebras. Despite its proximity to the central business district, the park has preserved its natural environment and is a popular tourist destination, offering guided walks, game drives, and camping, as well as picnic sites and a nature trail. The ivory burning site monument symbolizes Kenya's commitment to wildlife conservation, making the park a significant contributor to the Kenyan economy and a vital conservation area for endangered species.
